These are the books that I added to my library in October 2023. I bought all of these off Amazon, some for the challenges that I’m participating in, and the others because I was curious. I didn’t buy any e-book or audiobook this month nor did anybody give me a book, sadly.

Physical:

1. Rick Vargo Man of Shadows (Read)

  • Author: S. Michael Leier
  • Bought On: 9 Oct 2023

Set in the year 1932, “Man of Shadow” unfolds in the serene town of Demming, where an eerie and ominous presence casts its disturbing influence. Born from the depths of fear, this mysterious entity spreads a shroud of terror over the town, enveloping it in an unsettling darkness that threatens to consume all in its path. The enigmatic roots of this force harken back to a cryptic event in 1702, a puzzle that demands resolution. The narrative centers around Rick Vargo, chosen to be Demming’s beacon of hope during its most trying times. With his astute intellect and unwavering determination, Vargo is called upon to navigate the layers of the town’s haunted history and confront the ominous specter that has haunted it for generations. Teaming up with Vargo in this perilous pursuit is the resourceful and captivating Elizabeth Holloway. Her courage matches her beauty as the two delve deep into the town’s past, navigating a precarious journey strewn with ancient secrets and intricate intrigues. Together, they embark on a quest for truth that parallels their battle against the essence of fear itself. As the story unfolds, tension mounts, and Vargo and Holloway make discoveries that reveal long-concealed truths, intricately connecting them to the relentless entity that thrives on the terror it evokes. The narrative leads readers through a maze of unexpected twists and turns that keep them on the edge of their seats. The story reaches its zenith with a final revelation, culminating in an epic showdown between unwavering forces of good and the embodiment of shadow. As the plot threads converge, the intentions of the Man of Shadow become clear, propelling Vargo and Holloway to muster their strength and resilience to confront this embodiment of darkness. “Man of Shadow” masterfully weaves a tale of suspense, courage, and unyielding determination as two individuals join forces to face the darkest corners of human nature and the supernatural.
